Laps are shared from inside Track Impulse and only when the driver chooses to. Telemetry itself stays in the app: this page shows the lap record, not the trace. See the privacy policy for what is stored.

What a shared lap records

Every entry on this board carries the same fields, captured automatically at the moment the lap was set. Open a row to see all of them. Nothing identifying is stored: no email, no machine ID, no Windows username, no file paths.

FieldWhat it holds
Lap and sectorsTotal lap time plus each sector split, to the millisecond.
Top speedPeak speed reached on the lap, in km/h.
ConditionsAir temperature, track temperature, wetness and time of day in the sim.
Driver aidsTraction control level, ABS level and brake bias, so two laps can be compared fairly.
Tyres and setupCompound and whether the car ran a fixed or open setup.
SessionFor iRacing, the season and race week the lap belongs to. Blank for offline test drives.
Lap qualityOut lap and in lap flags, plus seconds spent in traffic.
DriverAn optional name, up to 24 characters, typed by the driver. Blank shows as Anonymous.

How the board is kept honest

A lap only reaches this page if the sim itself counted it. Track Impulse does not grade your driving. It reads the game's own verdict, and every sim gives that verdict differently, so each one is read on its own terms.

SimHow an invalid lap is caught
iRacingiRacing gives no single yes or no, so two signals are watched instead. If the black flag warning appears at any point during the lap, you ran wide. If your incident count goes up before you reach the line, you went off or made contact. Either one and the lap is out.
Le Mans UltimateLe Mans Ultimate publishes its own verdict on whether the lap will count. That verdict is read at the moment you cross the line, and it is taken as final.

A lap that fails is still yours. It stays in Performance Review with its full trace, so you can still study it, compare it and see where the time went. It just never leaves your PC.

Each driver holds one lap per car and track combination. Set a faster time and it replaces the old one. That keeps the board a list of real drivers rather than a list of one driver's good days.

If a lap still looks wrong, you can report it from the Community tab in Performance Review. Reported laps are reviewed by hand and removed if they do not stand up.

Sharing a lap of your own

Leave Track Impulse Overlays running while you drive in a supported sim and it captures your laps for you. There is nothing to export, no file to upload and no button to press mid-session. Sharing is off until you switch it on.

To switch it on, open Settings in Track Impulse Overlays, pick Sharing, and set Share my laps. There are three modes:

ModeWhat it does
Don't shareNever uploads anything. This is the starting setting.
Ask meAsks once per stint before anything is uploaded.
AutomaticUploads eligible personal best laps at the end of a stint.

The same screen holds the display name shown next to your laps. Leave it blank and your laps appear as Anonymous. The date and the weather always travel with a lap, because a reference lap cannot be compared fairly without them. Review sharing details opens the full setup, listing everything that is always included and everything that is never shared.

Downloading community laps works in every mode, including Don't share. You can compare yourself against this whole board without contributing a single lap.

Once a lap is on the board, Performance Review compares yours against it without leaving the sim, and the driving coach reads the same telemetry to tell you where the time went.

Track Impulse also runs low latency bass shaker output, telemetry to shaker in as low as 2ms, from the same install. Download it here.
